Dr. Praveen Naidu Vummadisetty was born in Vuyyuru, Andhra Pradesh, India. He received the B.Tech degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada, India, M.Tech degree from Defense Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune, India and PhD degree from Symbiosis International University (DU), Pune, India. Currently, he is working as an Associate Professor in Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, JNT University – Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College (Autonomous), Vijayawada, India. Praveen has 8 years of teaching experience and has authored more than 62 research papers published in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences (SCOPUS & SCI Indexed). He is serving as an active editor/reviewer for more than 25 top ranked peer reviewed international journals with publisher like IEEE, PIER, Wiley, Springer, Elsevier ,Taylor & Francis, etc. Praveen has also received the “outstanding reviewer award” from Elsevier. His research publications are having more than 350 citations with H-index of 11.
He has received, International Grants under Young Scientist/Young Faculty Scheme from DST (2015), AICTE (2017) and UGC (2018) Government of India. Also, he has authored 2 international text books on “Antennas” and holds two patents under his credit. Presently, he is working as co-principal investigator for a defense project (DRDO, India) worth INR 65,00,000. Prof. Dr. Praveen Naidu Vummadisetty has served as faculty adviser for 5 post graduate and 15 graduate students during the last 3 years. His main research interests are microstrip antennas, ultra-wideband antennas, multi-band antennas, compact antennas, Filters, MIMO antennas, RF Energy Harvesting antennas, DRA, Power Dividers, electromagnetic analysis and simulations. He has organized and chaired several sessions at IEEE conferences around the world and doing International Collaborative Research & Guest Lectures with more than 6 Countries.
Dr. Praveen Naidu has deep learning interest in the field of space communication from his childhood. To make a step forward to his dreams in satellite communications domain, In the year 2010, he has started working with various defense projects under various eminent scientists in Government of INDIA. As, he has always very keen to learn new things related to Space Satellite communications, recently, he has successfully attended and graduated CanSat Leader Training Program (CLTP 9) organized by University Space Engineering Consortium (UNISEC), on Aug 20 – 31, 2018, Japan. The CLTP course has been well designed and taught very effectively. The methodology followed in understanding each subsystem of CubeSat was very good. Currently, Dr. Praveen Naidu as a senior IEEE Branch Counselor of Region 10 (R10), he is planning various training programs to undergraduate students in India.
